Myrtle Beach to Host Beach, Boogie & BBQ Fest

Hosted by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the sixth-annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival will take place September 2-4, 2011, at Grand Park at Market Common in Myrtle Beach. Highlights of this family-friendly festival will include free live entertainment, great barbeque, three cooking events (Anything Goes on Friday, Official S.C. Barbeque Championship and Kansas City Barbeque Society Cook-off on Saturday), beer and wine garden, wake board demonstrations, free boat rides and more. Attendees can sample barbeque from all competing teams on Saturday beginning at 12 PM by purchasing a $10 wristband (kids 10 and under can sample for free). The Myrtle Beach area will officially kick off the summer season along the Grand Strand with the 59th-annual Sun Fun Festival® celebration June 4-5. The festival will take place at Grand Park across from The Market Common on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. The fun lasts all summer long with numerous free, family-friendly events, concerts and much more, promoted under the Sun Fun Festival® Celebration of Summer promotion, sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Sun Fun Festival will feature live entertainment, celebrity meet-and-greets, H2X Racing’s 2010 Tour of personal watercraft racing and demonstrations on Grand Park Lake, food and arts/crafts vendors, fireworks, Miss Sun Fun®/Miss Sun Fun Teen® pageant, to name a few activities.
