Myrtle Beach welcomes Canadian and American visitors to the Grand Strand March 12-20, 2011, for the 50th-annual Canadian-American Days, which promises a full lineup of great live events, giveaways, discounts and concerts. Sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and RBC Bank, 2011 Canadian-American Days is expected to draw approximately 100,000 Canadian visitors, as well as snowbirds from Northern states. Myrtle Beach to Host Biggest Loser Challenge

NBC’s inaugural Biggest Loser Event Challenge, a nationwide series of 5K and one-mile events for Americans of all fitness levels, will take place in Myrtle Beach on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Participants in this inaugural event will include Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper, along with past contestants. The 5K will start at 8 PM on Ocean Boulevard between Eighth and Ninth Avenues North, run South along Ocean Boulevard through Family Kingdom Amusement Park and finish on the boardwalk near Ninth Avenue North. The one-mile challenge will start at 8:30 AM on Ocean Boulevard. After the Challenge, there will be a health and fitness expo, live music and photo opportunities with Harper and some Biggest Loser alumni.
